For your paper card making ideas, start with a cute baby print to make handmade baby shower invitations. For this invitation, I used a print that had a baby stroller, bugs and butterflies. Since the colors on the print were primarily green, blue and yellow, I decided to make the handmade baby shower invitation for a boy.

I took the colors from the print to help me coordinate the colors for the card. I used the green color and added a thin green stripe next to the ribbon and a green brad. I took the blue color and made the border around the sentiment and added a blue baby bottle and ribbon. I often print the sentiment on my computer for many of my homemade card ideas. You can create baby shower invitations using stamps or rub-on letters to create the sentiment but it's more time consuming and expensive if you use stickers or rub-on letters since you have to use the same letters to make several invitations.

After I printed the sentiment for this handmade card making project, I trimmed it and added blue paper behind it to create a border. For your baby shower invitation idea, you can use a baby bottle sticker, like mine, or a sticker of the baby shower theme.

I love using ribbon for my homemade greeting card ideas and used a fun blue grosgrain ribbon for this invitation. It has white dotted lines in the middle of the ribbon which coordinated with the rest of the card.

You can use brads for your homemade baby shower invitations, especially if it's for a baby boy. I added a green brad on the middle of the ribbon which also helped coordinate all the colors of the card.
