Inspiration for your homemade card ideas can start with paper. I found scrapbook pattern paper that had "Congratulations" printed on it and thought it would be perfect to make handmade graduation cards. I used it as the background since it was a busy print. It's difficult to see but the print is actually silver.

Making graduation cards can be fun when you incorporate your craft punches. I used Fiskars' Threading Water Border Punch to create the white, scallop frame.

Try vellum for your paper cardmaking ideas. I printed the sentiment on vellum paper on this greeting card.

Look at Microsoft's website for clip art for graduation card ideas. The cap was downloaded and printed on cardstock paper. I carefully trimmed it and added glitter on the tassel.

Your graduation card designs can include ribbon but if you can eliminate it and make it simple if you're giving this card to a guy.

For this handmade card making project, I decided to stick with black and white colors so that it could be used for both a guy or girl. It can also be used for a high school or college graduation card.
